Embroidery marks first day after Columbus's removal
@black_feminist_hauntology: 127 years after that fascist Christopher Columbus was violently erected upon Providence and Plantations, he was expelled today: this is him, hanging from a rope, behind a policemen there to represent and protect Columbus’s legacies.
The people of South Providence and Washington Park stood in solidarity with Narraganset’s grandparents and grandchildren. Together we stood witness to this victory, cheering and jeering forward this exorcism that predates this statue and has been hundreds of years in the making.
The ancestors came forward to bless and protect us, and to ensure that mother f**ker Columbus does not get lost at sea on his way to hell - may he and all his comrades rot for eternity.
A new world is coming. Do you see her?
